David Vidgen, 39, Birmingham, a former police recruitment marketing manager, was jailed for his part in defrauding the force using bogus invoices and making just under £16,000. He was convicted of conspiracy. 
 
Tom Schofield, prosecuting, said it has been agreed that Vidgens’ benefit from the crime was £15,936.02. 
 
Vidgen has now served two and a half years in jail and has assets of less than £2,500. Under the proceeds of crime act, Judge Alan Parker has ordered the £2,375 to be confiscated and Vidgen faces a further 40 days of jail if this is not paid back within six months.
