Mark Fear, civil partner of former BBC newsreader Kenneth Kendall, has been found hanged in their home four months after Kendall’s death.
The couple had been together for 23 years and entered into civil partnership in 2006. Mr Kendall was the first BBC newsreader to appear on television in 1955. He died in December 2012 after suffering a stroke.
Mr Fear, an art gallery owner, was found hanging in the couple’s Cowes home by a friend after missing an appointment last Monday, 29th April 2013.
The Isle of Wight Coroner’s court heard that police were called just after 1pm and Mr Fear was confirmed dead half an hour later. Caroline Sumeray, Isle of Wight coroner, opened the hearing, which has been adjourned for a date to be fixed.
