Special Metals Wiggin of Hereford entered a guilty plea to an offence under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
The company, one of the largest employers in Herefordshire, is being prosecuted for failings that came to light when an employee was severely injured in 2009.
The case was committed to the Crown Court for sentence in May.
