A court has heard that Thomas Dunkley, 29, murdered former boxing champion Shaun Cummins, 45, and dismembered his body.
Mr Cummins remains were found at his home in Leicester after community nurses alerted police.
Dunkley was described as Mr Cummins “informal carer”.
The court heard that Dunkley used Mr Cummins credit card to purchase a chainsaw, gloves, mask, overalls and goggles, all used to dismember his body. Dunkley then put his remains into bin liners in a freezer.
Dunkley admitted four charges of fraud relating to using the credit cards, as well as cashing cheques from a trust fund.
The trial continues.
