Kelly Rochford, 36, the wife of a drug dealer, took copies of legal files from the law firm, Cooper Rollason, where she worked.
The legal files related to other drug dealers, Scott Dodd and Paul Stonehouse, who had been arrested at the same time as her husband, Jonathan Rochford, suspected of supplying class A drugs.
Rochford showed the files, which contained a summary of police evidence, to her husband, which gave him an advantage when being interview by police.
Rochford admitted the charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice and has been sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for a year, 12 months supervision and 50 hours unpaid work.
Judge Michael Chambers QC said she was prevented going straight to jail because of her guilty plea, the fact that she’s a mother to two young children and also because her husband is now serving a long sentence.
