James Cartwright, 18, is facing jail after pleading guilty to the murder of Shane Watson.
Mr. Watson suffered from serious head injuries after being attacked in an alleyway off Springfield Grove, Sedgley, on 28th July.
During the short hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Cartwright showed no emotion and spoke only to confirm his name and enter his plea.
His co-defendant, Shylon Wishart, 19, denied murder and will face trail on April 8 next year. Cartwright will be sentenced following the trial of Wishart.
