An inquest opened on Monday 15th October into the death of Robert Hayball, 20, of Newport who was found dead at the foot of the Culver Cliffs. 
 
Hayball left home in a van after a domestic dispute, and police were called at 2.52am by his concerned partner. A short time later the police were informed that a vehicle had gone over a cliff at Culver. Hayball’s body was found near to the vehicle the following day.
 
Coroner for the Isle of Wight, Caroline Sumeray, said at the inquest opening that a post-mortem confirmed Mr Hayball, who was born in Thailand, died of multiple injuries and trauma.
