Two men have been jailed for a total of 64 years after shooting at police during the Birmingham riots. The pair denied any involvement, but were convicted following a four week trial.
Beniha Laing, 29, who was jailed for 35 years, was said to have helped organise the ambush at the Barton Arms, where officers and a police helicopter were fired at. Wesley Gray, Laing’s accomplice was jailed for 29 years.
Two women, who were connected to the firearms used on the night of the shootings, have also been sentenced.
