A CROOK jailed for running a Midland brothel is set to see three properties sold from under his feet.
The cash generated will go towards a £2million confiscation order already made against Carl Pritchett.
He is serving a seven-year jail term for running the Cuddles brothel, in Bearwood, where 19 women were found to be working as prostitutes following a raid in 2005, and for failing to settle the cash demand within six months.
The brothel, it was heard at a previous hearing, had an average of 490 clients a week, bringing in £3.5 million profit.
The sex workers came from ten different countries – mainly from Eastern Europe – and were working as sex slaves on the premises in Hagley Road.
Pritchett, aged 57, was back before Wolverhampton Crown Court where John Butterfield, prosecuting, made the application for the receiver to be appointed.
He told the court it was in respect of three properties in The Parade, Hagley Road, and in Lower High Street, Walsall, owned by Pritchett whose assets are subject to a restraining order.
He told Judge Martin Walsh all proceeds from the sale of the properties would go towards the confiscation order still in force for the outstanding £2million.
Anthony Johnson, representing Pritchett, said that after full discussions the application was not opposed.
Mr Butterfield told the judge: “No-one is fooling themselves that this is the last word in this story.”
The judge also made an order for Pritchett to pay £2,500 costs having initially “hotly-contested” the application for the receiver to be appointed.
