A Stafford man has been found guilty of murdering his friend following a suspected row over drugs.
Simon Taylor, 36, had denied the murder of Mark Carroll, 35, whose body was discovered at the defendant’s address in Marston Road.
Taylor is due to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Friday.
The court heard the body of Mr Carroll was discovered in March 2011, after he was last seen alive on 23 January.
Staffordshire Police said Taylor concealed the body of Mr Carroll at the house, where the victim had been sleeping for at least two months.
“Both men were heavy drugs users and it appears that Mark was, tragically, killed in a row over drugs,” a police spokesman said after the hearing.
“Mark’s family are continuing to receive our support at this tremendously difficult time and hopefully, today’s outcome at court will come as some comfort to them.”
Mr Carroll’s family previously said: “Mark was, and always will be, deeply loved by us.
“We are devastated and totally shattered by the loss of our beloved son and brother.”
