A TEENAGE fan of vampire books has been jailed for life for stabbing his mother to death.
Jamie Fort was 18 when he plunged a knife 80 times into his 57-year-old mother Patricia as his father and sister slept upstairs on July 28, 2008.
Judge William Davis QC told Birmingham Crown Court: “There is no doubt Jamie Fort killed his mother in a sustained and brutal attack with a kitchen knife.
“He had no reason to do that in terms of any dispute or argument with her.
“The reason he did what he did, there is no doubt, was because he was suffering from a significant mental disorder.
“The responsibility he had for his actions was very limited.”
