Two Coventry men have been jailed for the assault and murder of their 44-year-old drinking companion.
Balkar Singh Chima, aged 56, of The Copse, Exhall and Onkar Singh Chokkar, aged 52, of Mawnan Close, Exhall were convicted at Birmingham Crown Court.
The pair were told they would serve 16 years each for the murder and a further year would run concurrent to their sentences for the assault on Ranjit Singh.
The trial heard their 44-year-old victim was left with seventy one visible injuries along with a fractured eye socket, a broken nose and massive head injuries that were to prove to be the main cause of death.
He was found injured on the doorstep of a house in Mawnan Close, Exhall on June 22, 2010, and died a day later.
