The battle over an unauthorised gypsy camp on greenbelt land near Birmingham continued yesterday as a highways inspector said the development would not clog up roads.
Hired by the group of travellers seeking to build a permanent settlement in Meriden, highways engineer Jeremy Hurlstone assessed access to the site on Eaves Green Lane.
In his report he said Solihull Council’s objections on highways grounds were “inappropriate” and the scheme would not make the road unsafe.
