AN eyewitness to the stabbing of Connor Upton told jurors he thought his cousin had been punched in the chest.
Charles Walkman said Mr Upton even started to chase after murder-accused George Lawrence following their confrontation outside Merlins nightspot in Burton.
But after running round the corner into Guild Street, his cousin stopped and dropped, first into a sitting position.
Charles Walkman said he stopped as well, opened up his cousin’s jacket and saw blood pouring out.
Giving evidence at Stafford Crown Court, Charles Walkman said Mr Upton and the defendant had had a fight just before in the smoking area of the nightclub and his cousin had got the better of it.
The witness said he walked back through the club and out the front doors and saw Mr Upton together with another cousin, Vincent Walkman. He was talking with them when the defendant came out…………….
