THE former manager of Birmingham’s Mr Egg cafe who injured 16 customers by spraying concentrated vinegar at them has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Mahbubur Rhaman of Cole Valley Road, Hall Green, showered his customers, including an RAF hopeful, at the take-away on Hurst Street three times with the corrosive liquid.
Victim Joseph Brereton was worst hit when the liquid splashed into his eyes while he tried to calm the situation.
He had to put five eye drops in every hour for 24 hours and Birmingham Crown Court heard the attack hampered his application to join the RAF.
A 17-year-old cafe worker, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to an 18-month training and detention order for his part in the attack.
