Chris Bright QC, who specialises in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury work, was interviewed for the BBC Politics Show aired on Sunday 13th 2011 in relation to his having chaired the Midland Circuit response to the Government Green Paper proposals restricting legal aid for clinical negligence claims.
In expressing the concerns of the Bar in relation to balancing the need for monetary savings with access to justice for the poorest and most vulnerable in society, Chris said:
“Lawyers aren’t popular, but when people suffer serious accidents and then want access to justice, they’re going to be pulled up short when suddenly they find there simply isn’t the funding available to even investigate what may well be a very good claim.”
