MIDLAND student who shot three schoolchildren with a ball bearing gun has been spared time behind bars.
Rikesh Patel fired at the youngsters from his Wolverhampton University Halls of Residence room overlooking St Edmunds Catholic School, in Compton.
One 14-year-old boy was hit in the head by a ball bearing, a second 14- year-old was shot in the neck while a 12-year-old girl was struck on the leg.
Judge Martin Walsh, at Wolverhampton Crown Court, told Patel his actions could have had “catastrophic consequences” if the children had been hit in the eye and blinded.
