No5 Barristers’ Chambers is holding a series of Judicial Review seminars that will cover all aspects including the grounds of challenge, procedure, interim and final remedies.
Our aim is to provide a comprehensive series of seminars, which will benefit lawyers and advisors, including those working in campaigning organisations with a legal strategy. The seminars will also include case studies.
All sessions will be followed by networking drinks and nibbles.
Judicial Review is a constantly evolving area. The procedure established by CPR Part 54 continues to be supplemented by practice statements from the Administrative Court. Meanwhile parallel procedures for “Judicial Review” in the Upper Tribunal continues to develop. This course will bring you right up to date with the law and procedure in this important area.
Topics covered on this course will include:
- Recent Developments and 'hot topics' - Public authorities for the purposes of the Human Rights Act; damages in judicial review; alternative remedies; costs; using foreign and international law; review of facts and human rights.
A detailed approach to procedure - Bringing claims; interim relief; including applications to the Duty Judge and tactics.
