Lois is a member of the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence groups.
In PI and Clinical Negligence cases Lois has appeared on behalf of Claimants and Defendants in the County Court and High Court.
Lois accepts a variety of instructions which include, inter alia, the following:

Lois’ background pre pupillage was in serious injury and her interest remains in this field. Prior to coming to the bar, Lois was the legal assistant of Gerard McDermott QC. The majority of his caseload is catastrophic personal injury.
At the bar, Lois practises in brain and spinal injury cases for Claimants. She undertakes amputation cases (Both in clinical negligence and personal injury).
She has particular expertise in schedules, and founded Schedule School, a free resource designed to take junior practitioners through catastrophic injury schedules, one head of loss at a time.
Inquests
In addition, Lois represents families at inquests, both in personal injury and clinical negligence.
Most recently, she represented the partner of the late Police Sergeant Ratana, after a man detained by the Metropolitan Police concealed a firearm during a stop and search on the street, and later discharged it in custody, fatally wounding PS Ratana.
She has expertise with both motor vehicle deaths and deaths caused by the state of the highway (including cases involving mud and standing water).
In addition, she has carried out clinical negligence inquests. Her most recent inquests relate to a failure to scan (resulting in a finding of neglect) and a failure to provide lifesaving surgery.
