Laura is a specialist Family Mediator, dealing with both children and property disputes.
Laura will facilitate open, solution-focussed discussions to enable parties to make agreed arrangements in respect of: where the children of the family will live and how they will spend time with each parent; ownership and occupation of the family home; the division of finances and property upon a divorce; or relocation and cross-jurisdictional disputes, among other issues.
Mediation often takes place between separating couples, but may also be suitable for wider family disputes, such as grandparental contact with children.
Laura is skilled in areas of high conflict family breakdown. Mediation may be possible even where clients have experienced some form of domestic violence or controlling behaviour. Special arrangements can be made for parties who may be more vulnerable as a result of a learning disability or mental health issue. Laura is also able to mediate disputes in which local authorities have safeguarding concerns in respect of children.
All forms of financial disputes within a family context are suitable for mediation.
Laura undertakes MIAMs (Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings) which parties are usually required to attend prior to the issue of proceedings in the Family Court.
