Mareks Skorobogatovs, 23, of Telford was trying to impress his 26-year-old passenger, Dovile Piktuizyte, when his car left the road near Albrighton. Skorobogatovs had consumed a large amount of alcohol and combined with his reckless driving led to the death of Miss Piktuizyte. He pleaded guilty to a charge of causing Miss Piktuizyte’s death by careless driving and failing to allow a blood specimen test, as well as a charge of causing death by driving when unlicensed and uninsured. He was also given a six-year driving disqualification and will be banned for at least three years following his release from prison and must take an extended UK driving test.
