On 9th April 2018, S Chelvan, of No5 Barristers’ Chambers, drew on his personal experiences as a first-generation migrant, black gay man and legal professional in the Asylum area, to speak at the Bloomberg Community partners LGBT +, Ally and Pan-Asian communities event ‘The LGBT + refugees in the UK’. The event, which was attended by both internal and external guests of Blooomberg, covered the shocking disparity in treatment of LGBT+ people in different jurisdictions across the globe.
