It has been announced by the Inquiry Chair, Baroness Heather Hallett, that Richard Grimshaw has been appointed to join its legal team. Richard has been appointed as one of the Senior Junior Counsel to the Inquiry and he, together with the other appointed junior counsel will support the Lead Counsel to the Inquiry, the Solicitor to the Inquiry, and the eleven recently appointed Queen’s Counsel with the preparation and delivery of the Inquiry’s investigative work.

Speaking on his appointment, Richard said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this role and look forward to assisting with the Inquiry’s work”.

Richard will be assisting with the Inquiry on a part time basis and therefore will still be accepting instructions through No5 Barristers' Chambers in the usual way.

Richard Grimshaw undertakes a broad spectrum of clinical negligence and inquest work acting on behalf of both claimants and defendants. He is ranked by Chambers UK Bar 2022 and Legal 500 2022 (Tier 1) for his clinical negligence and inquest and inquiries work. He is also a Recorder (both civil and crime), as well as a Deputy Master of the Queen’s Bench Division.
