Energy and Infrastructure proposals have been and remain amongst the most contentious and controversial proposals handled by the planning system, they are often the subject of intense political and local interest.

No5 Chambers has an established team of barristers with extensive knowledge and experience of Energy and Infrastructure projects which have been promoted through the DCO and Planning Appeal Process under the Planning Act 2008, the Town & County Planning Act 1990, the Transport and Works Act 1992, the Electricity Act 1989 and other legislation.   • Assisting the Examining Authority dealing with the Thames Tideway Tunnel providing advice and advocacy assistance, the first such appointment
  • Advising on and appearing at the examination in relation to the proposed Northern Line Extension
  • York Potash mine, the world’ s largest such mine
  • A major Rail Freight Interchange at Radlett
  • Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station
