REGULATORY

Talbir has experience in health and safety cases at all levels. He has represented a number of personal and corporate clients and appeared in a number of health and safety cases and has acted and advised previously on behalf of the DWP Revenue and Customs and FSA.

Talbir has substantial experience in a large number of insurer-funded death by driving cases. This has led to instructions in driving cases involving serious injury with underlying litigation. Talbir has represented clients who have faced manslaughter charges as a result of a death upon a building site.

Talbir helped shaped the manner in which Road Traffic law is prosecuted in the Midlands by raising Human Rights issues in R v Hollingsworth. This was one of the leading cases that made its way to the (then named) House of Lords.

LICENSING

Talbir has been instructed by various businesses in licensing applications of all types of alcohol and taxi licensing cases.

Local authorities have enlisted the advisory help of Talbir in cases where problem premises need to be brought under control.

PROCEEDS OF CRIME ACT

Talbir has substantial experience with the workings of this act. He is regularly instructed in cases involving restraint & confiscation applications and proceeds of crime litigation in the Magistrates court, Crown Court and High Court.

INQUESTS

Talbir has appeared at a number of inquests. His expertise has led to him to giving advice in complex cases where an individual has died in custody of the state and where the state may be responsible for the death.

Talbir has appeared for interested parties in the Coroners Court whether they be individuals or government bodies. This has included the family of deceased and organisations such as Royal Mail.
