Steven Reed - Commercial Litigation

Steven graduated with First Class Honours in LL.B English and German Law from the University of Kent and the Philipps-Universität, Marburg, Germany before completing an LL.M at the University of London. Called to the Bar in 2005, in October 2010 Steven was named by Legal Week as one of the top ten stars at the commercial and chancery Bar under ten years call.
 
Steven’s practice covers all aspects of commercial litigation. He regularly advises, drafts pleadings and appears in all types of commercial litigation including contractual disputes, tortious disputes and restitutionary claims from procedural and interim applications (such as strike out/summary judgment and security for costs applications, disclosure applications and interim remedies including injunctions and freezing injunctions) to trials.
 
Steven’s experience includes disputes involving breach of contract, negligence, misrepresentation, negligent mis-statement, undue influence, duress and estoppel as well as disputes in relation to the interpretation of agreements, Sale of Goods Act (including hire purchase disputes and return of goods), personal guarantees, conversion and conspiracy claims and passing off disputes.
 
In addition, Steven has particular experience in (i) utility disputes and regularly advises and appears on behalf of the leading utility providers, (ii) breach of warranty disputes following a share sale and (iii) commercial disputes that involve aspects of intellectual property law.
