Simon Worlock - Family

Simon Worlock (2001) (1975) has been an active member of chambers since November 2001. Prior to joining chambers he had more than 25 years experience as a solicitor in private practice and enjoyed an extensive childcare practice in all levels of courts . He is a meticulous preparer and presenter of cases with close attention to careful client care which is a priority to him.

He was a founder member of the Law Society Childcare Panel. He has vast experience in acting for parents, children and local authorities and also working with Guardians since their inception.

He has experience in all aspects of Public Law Children Act cases including long contested care proceedings, S 38(6) applications, S 34(4) applications, fact finding hearings (including NAI) and final hearings. He has particular interest in cases involving injuries to children, particularly babies and sexual abuse cases and he has acted extensively in such cases over many years.

While Simon is entirely committed to the safety of children he feels particularly strongly that, however hopeless the case may at first appear, parents have a right to the most careful representation.

In private law he frequently represents parents in S.8 proceedings. He also represents children in complex cases when instructed by NYAS.
