Nicola is instructed in ancillary relief, TOLATA/cohabitation disputes, public law and private law.
Nicola represents husbands and wife’s regarding finance. She has dealt with all applications in AR and has advised on paper. Furthermore, she has represented intervenors with regard to property disputes within marriage. Her cases have been varied and have included business assets, pre-marital assets, inheritance and pensions. With regard to TOLATA she has dealt with matters at final hearing, settled pleadings, and advised in conference.
Nicola takes matters on direct access. She is able to bring her skills as a former solicitor to assist her clients when they need to run their own litigation.
Nicola represents Local Authorities, parents, children and other parties in care proceedings at all levels. Her work has included complex High Court cases dealing with jurisdiction, overseas adoption and Brussels II. She has represented vulnerable clients protected by the Official Solicitor. Her parent work includes those affected by alcohol and drug use and chaotic living, learning disabled and/or mental health difficulties. Nicola accepts instructions on direct access basis which has meant the representation of grandparents and intervenors.
Nicola has dealt with complex private law matters involving intractable hostility between parents, relocation of parents and children, and specific issues. She has acted for Guardians appointed under rule 16.4.
