Michael Anning - Employment
Michael has gained a formidable reputation as an advocate with over twenty years experience as a Barrister. He brings a confident and assured presence before the ET as well as an approach marked by detailed preparation.
He accepts instructions from both Claimants and Respondents - including direct access - for tribunal work covering a broad range of employment issues. These include unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination (race,sex,age and disability), whistle blowing and wage related issues.
Recent cases include:
- Instructed by Respondent NHS Trust by direct access on multi day unfair dismissal relating to conduct and breach of confidentiality.
- Acting for Claimant in unfair dismissal claim concerning internet misuse at work.
- Race discrimination claim acting for Claimant employed by public sector body. Claim relating to allegation of race discrimination relating to internal promotion.
- Advising on sex discrimination claim by female manager of a private sector nationwide chain.
Michael read Philosophy and Politics at Durham University (B.A. Hons) before gaining a further degree in Law at London University (LL.B.Hons). He then completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. Following pupillage in London he joined NO5 Chambers in 1992 where he has been in practice ever since.
Before coming to the Bar Michael worked for a multi national company in the motor industry holding managerial positions in the Midlands and the South East.
