Louisa Denning Personal Injury

Louisa practises exclusively in the field of personal injury.  She has wide experience of litigation involving road accidents, accidents at work, occupiers’ liability and other public liability claims.

Louisa takes instructions from Claimants and Defendants alike.  She has a keen interest and expertise in the defence of fraudulent personal injury claims, especially claims arising out of alleged road traffic accidents and fraudulent employers’ liability claims.  She is a panel barrister for several major insurers and is regularly instructed by specialist Defendant firms of solicitors.

Louisa’s claimant work encompasses cases spanning the range of the multi track and includes fatal accident claims and cases involving brain injury, amputation and complex multiple injuries.  Louisa’s approach to such cases combines compassion and attention to detail.  In very high value cases, Louisa works well with Leading Counsel and serves as a effective interface between her instructing solicitor and Queen’s Counsel.

Louisa’s practice encompasses both advisory and adversarial elements.  She is frequently instructed for her advice in conference and on paper, in addition to undertaking interlocutory hearings, joint settlement meetings and trial work.

Louisa is diligent and prides herself on her ability to turnaround paperwork promptly.  She is an advocate of paperless working and will happily accept instructions to attend telephone hearings and to conduct conferences via video link in appropriate cases.

Outside of work, aside from spending time with her family, Louisa is a keen photographer (a hobby which she combines with her interest in travel) and an avid reader.  She also enjoys swimming for relaxation and plays the piano.

During her training for the Bar, Louisa was awarded the McMahon Scholarship (St John's College, 1998) and the Lord Justice Holker Award (Gray's Inn, 1998).
