Joanne Rothwell - Education
Joanne has been practising in the area of Education Law since 2003.
During that time she has represented both Local Education Authorities and parents.
She has experience of representation at Tribunal level, including SENDIST and in the Administrative Court (Judicial Review).
Joanne understands and has personal experience of the pressures facing pupils, parents and Local Education Authorities in the current economic climate, including the challenges facing those concerned in the Government’s drive for school reform using the academy model, both at Secondary and Primary levels.
Joanne is a barrister who has a down to earth and practical approach to her work.
Joanne is a one of the founding Trustees of the The Elliot Foundation, which is a successful multi-academy trust specialising in the Primary Sector and aims to build self improving and sellf sustaining clusters of top primary academies. There are currently three clusters, the first is in the West Midlands, the second in London and the third in East Anglia.
Joanne is registered to take clients under the Direct Access Scheme.

Joanne was appointed as at part-time (fee paid) Immigration Judge within the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal in 2006 and as an Adjudicator for the Legal Services Commission for Funding Review in 2005.
