Former adjudicator at the Financial Ombudsman Service [“FOS”], dealing with FOS jurisdiction under the Financial Services and Makerts Act [“FSMA”] to adjudicate upon banking and insurance markets.
Broad range of work across the banking, finance and financial regulation spectrum.
Recent instructions include:
i. Acting as junior Counsel [led by David Berkley Q.C.] in a claim for £8m+ arising out of the sale of an embedded derivative product by a well know retail bank;
ii. Advising Duff & Phelps, as joint liquidators of an unregulated collective investment scheme [The Connaught Income Fund, Series 1 v Capita Financial Mangers Limited & Blue Gate Capital Limited], on certain discrete aspects of its claim against the Defendants.
iii. Acting as sole Counsel for BNY Mellon in a claim relating to alleged failures to comply with the Data Protection Act;
iv. Acting as sole Counsel for HSBC Bank in a number of cases relating to the enforcement of securities;
v. Acting as sole Counsel for RBS in the recovery of aged facilities [limitation and acknowledgment of debt].
