Becket Bedford is exceptionally well versed in heavy weight commercial litigation at all levels from pre-action, through interlocutory stages, to trial, mediation or appeal and on to Europe. He has substantial experience gained from beer and petrol tie litigation establishing right to damages for breach of competition law. He has a track record of success in winning emergency injunctions from duty the High Court judge, freezing orders and in video and telephone hearings. 

Instructed in commercial and civil fraud cases, breach of warranty, aviation law, share sale agreements, minority shareholder’s rights and unfair prejudice petitions, public contract disputes regarding provision of health and dental services, public procurement, restrictive covenants relating to employment, confidentiality, privacy and business sale contracts.

Becket Bedford has substantial EU and competition law experience gained through litigation in the High Court, Court of Appeal and the European Court of Justice: Greenalls Management Ltd v Canavan [1997] EWCA Civ 2240; Harrison v Matthew Brown PLC [1997] EWCA Civ 2606; Gibbs Mew PPLC v Gemmel [1998] EWCA Civ 1262; Trent Taverns Ltd v Sykes [1999] EWCA Civ 643; Courage Ltd v Crehan [1999] EWCA Civ 1500; Roberts v European Commission [2001] ECR II-1881; and Joynson v European Commission [2002] ECR II-2085.
Becket Bedford has long experience of the Commercial Agents Regulations: Parks v Esso Petroleum Co Ltd [1999] EWCA Civ 1942 and will advise or appear in cases concerning provisions on termination, payment of outstanding commission, indemnity or compensation. 
Becket Bedford has a successful track record before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. He has settled two successful applications to the Court resulting in compensation from the State plus costs. Becket Bedford is intimate with the principle of proportionality and the Court’s procedures and has used them to seek emergency interim remedies.
