The Group offers detailed advice, the conduct of proceedings (including representation at mediation or in negotiations) and the drafting of all relevant documents (for both contentious and non-contentious work) in the following areas.

Contentious Probate – dealing with upholding or challenging the validity of wills Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975

Administration of Estates - Covering all issues relating to the administration of estates, including the construction of wills, identity of beneficiaries, deductibility of expenses or debts, ascertainment of assets and the like, whether contentious or non-contentious. Also, tax liability of estates, the burden of tax. Also all aspects of PGO jurisdiction.

Trusts - Construction of trust deeds, powers and duties of trustees, drafting of trust deeds themselves, deeds of appointment (both of assets and trustees), vesting orders and so on. Representation in contentious matters such as breach of trust and tracing claims, variation of trust applications. This further includes trusts of land (including proprietary estoppel claims). All aspects of charitable trusts and pensions are also covered.

Tax - Advice and representation on all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, including tax planning and VAT.
